Our Daycare

Founded in 2008, Loretta's Little Miracles understands the need for compassionate and consistent care for medically fragile and developmentally disabled children.  Because we are locally owned, we are patient driven and treat each little miracle like family.

After years of working as a school nurse, Loretta noticed a group of children who could benefit from specialized and structured after-school services.  When she decided to open Loretta’s Little Miracles, Loretta custom designed the facility to provide all of the amenities she felt each child deserved (for more detailed information about Loretta, please visit our Staff Page).

In an effort to contribute to each child’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs, Loretta’s Little Miracles provides age/ability appropriate activities.  This includes but is not limited to: (** For a sample daily itinerary, please see our Services Page** )

Kitchen Activities:  The kitchen is a great place for children to learn.  There is the opportunity to learn about chemistry, math and socialization.  With activities ranging from making cookies to pumpkin carving, each child is allotted the opportunity to take part in the sights, sounds and smells of the kitchen.

Passive Quiet Activities: It is important for children to be given physical and mental rest time between activities in order for them to recharge their batteries.

Quiet Active Activities: Individual engaging activities such as homework assistance, board games, puzzles, play dough, water colors, etc.

Group Activities: Group activity discussion ranging from topics such as the weather, days of the week, seasons of the year, etc.  There is also the opportunity for children to be exposed to other artistic activities such as listening to music, looking at art, or being read to by an adult.

Physical Education: Often times, children with medical or developmental disabilities are sedate because they can’t participate in regular physical education.  In an effort to encourage healthy daily physical activity and education, we provide modified activities to include each child.  This includes organized games, stretching/flexibility, aerobics, dance and other isometric activities.

Our facility provides:

  • Receiving room with a nursing assessment to separate ill children who are contagious and must return home as to not expose the other children
